KDDI announced that it will release a solar-powered cellphone - first of its kind in Japan - in June 2009.

It is hard to imagine though when will the people in Japan get the chance to solar-charge their handsets, when most of their daytime is spent indoors: in the offices, restaurants, trains, etc.?
