Japan is a clean country

Japan is the cleanest country I have ever lived in or visited. When I say clean, I mean you don’t even see a cigarette butt on the ground. This applies to Tokyo as well, and given the size of the city, it is quite remarkable.
The reason: the Japanese culture of cleanness plus an “army” of cleaning personal and volunteers that keep sweeping, dusting and vacuuming…
This morning on my way to work I saw a subway staff dusting the public phones in the station. The other day, I saw a guy vacuuming on the main road.
