Can a “Blogger” blog look professional and have increased functionality?
You bet it can!
The great things about having a blog powered by Blogger are:
- the Hosting is Free
- it is Reliable (being supported by Google’s money)
- and Very Easy to manage the content.
Moreover, you can have your own Domain Name for only $10 a year.
The problem with Blogger is:
- the default design looks amateurish and common since millions are using the free templates.
- the “Blogger” navbar does not look good – it looks like something being imposed on your page and you really don’t want it there
- the "B" favicon – you don’t want that
- plus Blogger does not let you easily set up things like horizontal menus, so can easily link to important postings, etc.
Not anymore!
Take this blog for example. It has:
- customized CSS for color-scheme, fonts, borders, etc.
- customized Header + Logo
- customized favicon
- horizontal menus for links and icons like “twitter”, “rss”
- space-holders for advertising banners and some animated gifs
- internal and external Marketing Survey - Poll
Plus, it has been optimized for Search Engines and integrated with Google Analytics and Google Adsense.
